What kind of poses are included in my newborn shoot?

What kind of poses are included in my newborn shoot?

If you’re thinking ‘what kind of poses are included in my newborn shoot’ then I have broken down my workflow to give a  you a bit more knowledge below of what takes place during one of my newborn portrait sessions.

When shooting my newborn photo sessions I try to split shots into three sections:

  • Natural shots, layered with textured blankets.
  • Posed shots, in a little outfit.
  • Wrapped shots, fully wrapped in a stretchy cloth.

I find this process gives three different looks / styles of photos so clients have a good selection of shots for more choice. I usually try to tie the section styles together using similar colours and textures but they could also be all different. Examples from a shoot can be seen below.

These photos of little Betsy are different colours chosen by mum and myself – we have her draped in a white knitted blanket; in a little pink-frill outfit; and back to white for the stretch wrap shots. 😍
